The list in **Catalogue** holds every saved work. Search it to find one work, or filter it to find every work that needs something from you.

## Find the works that need your information

1. Open **Catalogue**. On a narrow screen the filters are folded under **Filters**.
2. Press **Needs information (any society)**. The list shrinks to those works, and the line above it says how many match and offers **Clear filters**.
3. Open a work. Press **Details missing** on its row to land on its **To do** list, or press its title to open the editor.
4. Follow the explanations to fix it. See [Fix problems on a work](/docs/workspace/catalogue/fix-problems).

**Fix what is missing** on **Today** opens this same filtered list. See [What needs you next](/docs/workspace/today/needs-you). Three names mean one thing here: the row says **Details missing**, the filter button says **Needs information (any society)**, and the status choice says **Needs your information**.

## Search, filter and sort

- **Search saved works** takes a title, work reference or ISWC. The list narrows as you type.
- **Writer name or identifier** and **Publisher name or identifier** narrow it by a person or company.
- **Society** and **Status** go together, and appear once you have chosen your societies in **Settings**. With a society chosen, **Status** picks where works stand with that society. With **Society** left on **Any**, it picks by each work's one overall state: the most pressing status any of its societies is in, which is what the chart on **Today** counts. Its choices are **Needs your information**, **Not checked yet**, **Ready to prepare**, **With the society**, **Accepted**, **Needs correction or review** and **No TrackForge history**. [What the statuses mean](/docs/workspace/catalogue/statuses) explains them.
- **ISWC** keeps works that have one (**Has ISWC**) or lack one (**No ISWC**).
- **Recordings** keeps works that list a recording (**Recording listed**) or list none (**No recording listed**). On the list of works with none, each row has an **Add a recording** button.
- The buttons **Changed since submission**, **Registration differs** and **Details to confirm** each switch one more filter on.
- **Sort by** offers **Last updated** (newest first), **Title**, **Reference** and **Status (needs you first)**.

The footer moves between pages and sets how many works show: 25, 50 or 100. Your search, filters and sort stay in the page address, so reloading or going back keeps them. Reloading returns you to the first page.

## The figures above the list

Two cards above the list count the catalogue's works. Every figure opens the list with that one filter on and the others cleared.

- **What you have entered** splits the works two ways. **Recordings** shows **Recording listed** against **No recording listed**, and **ISWC** shows **Has ISWC** against **No ISWC**. With fewer than ten works each is a list of figures with no drawing.
- **Where each society is up to** is a table with a row for each of your societies and a column for each status that has works in it. **No TrackForge history** counts every work that was never prepared, sent or brought in for that society, whatever else it needs, so a row can add up to more than your works.

## What a row shows

Under the title you see the work reference, the writers' surnames and the ISWC. **Your details** reads **Complete**, **Details missing**, **Checking for** a society, or **Couldn't check**. Each society then has its own column. **Unsaved browser edits available** means the work has a recovery copy. See [Edit a work](/docs/workspace/catalogue/edit-a-work).

## Tick works to act on them

Owners and editors get tick boxes. **Select all works on this page** is in the heading row. **Prepare selected works** starts a file from your ticks. See [Prepare a file](/docs/workspace/files/prepare). Ticks stay while you search, filter or change page, and they use saved versions. A work saved since you ticked it shows **Changed since selection**, so tick it again.

## If something goes wrong

- ****No matching works.**** Press **Clear filters**.
- ****Your works have not been checked yet**.** No society is chosen, so works are not checked for any. **Choose your societies** opens the choice.
- **Checks seem stuck.** The list refreshes itself while works are being checked. If it stops, press **Refresh**.

## Keyboard

In a row, Tab reaches the tick box, the title and the first society. The left and right arrow keys, Home and End then move between the societies.
