A catalogue is a named group of works in your workspace. Keep more than one when you want to work on a group of works on its own: each catalogue has its own list, search, filters and list of what is holding its works up. A work can belong to several catalogues without being copied.

## Create another catalogue

You need to be an owner or editor.

1. Beside the catalogue chooser, press **Create another catalogue**.
2. Type a name in **New catalogue name**.
3. Press **Create catalogue**. The new catalogue opens.

A workspace with none shows **Create your first catalogue, then import a spreadsheet or add a work.** A name is set when you create the catalogue. The Workspace has no screen for renaming it, so choose it with care.

## Switch catalogue

Open the chooser, which starts with **Choose a catalogue**, and pick a catalogue by name. It opens on **Today**. The Workspace remembers the last catalogue you used, for each workspace, in this browser.

Each catalogue keeps its own search and filters. They do not follow you to another catalogue. The chooser is switched off while an action such as a save, a bulk edit or a delete is running. If the catalogue list did not load, press **Reload catalogues**.

## See every work once

Choose **All catalogues** in the chooser. It appears once you have a catalogue. The page says each saved work appears once, with every catalogue it belongs to, and that links share the same saved work. The column **Catalogues** names them.

The list searches, filters and sorts as a catalogue's does. See [Find, filter and sort works](/docs/workspace/catalogue/find). Opening a work opens it in the first catalogue it belongs to.

## Link works into another catalogue

1. Tick the works, in a catalogue or in All catalogues.
2. Under **Link to catalogue**, choose the catalogue.
3. Press **Link selected works**.

The screen says how many were linked and that no copies were created. Existing links are kept. Because the link shares the same saved work, a change to the work shows in every catalogue it is in. See [Edit many works at once](/docs/workspace/catalogue/edit-many).

## What you cannot do from All catalogues

Edit, link and delete work as they do in a catalogue. These do not:

- **Prepare a file.** There is no **Prepare selected works** button. Open a catalogue to prepare one. See [Prepare a file](/docs/workspace/files/prepare).
- **See the causes.** The panel **What is holding your works up** belongs to one catalogue.
- **Import or add works.** Do that inside a catalogue.
- **Use the tabs.** **All catalogues** has no tabs and no breadcrumb. To get back to **Today**, **Files and responses** or **Settings**, choose a catalogue in the chooser.

All catalogues is also the only place to find deleted works. See [History, undo and deleted works](/docs/workspace/catalogue/history).
