There is no separate sign-up form. You sign in, and the first time you do, the Workspace asks for your name, a business name and a catalogue name, and creates your workspace.

## Before you start

Decide which email address your workspace will be under, and use it every time. A workspace is found by email address, so a Google or LinkedIn account under a different address will not open it.

## Steps

1. Go to `trackforge.studio/workspace` and sign in with LinkedIn, Google or a code sent to your email. [Signing in](/docs/workspace/signing-in) covers that page.
2. The screen **Set up your TrackForge Workspace** opens. Under the heading, **Signed in as** shows the address your workspace will be under. If it is not the one you want, press **Sign out** and sign in again with the right one.
3. Read the offer in the panel **Free during the beta**. The next section quotes it.
4. Type your **First name** and **Last name**. The account button in the top bar shows your initials and first name.
5. Type your **Business or publisher name**. It is shown as your workspace name. You can use your own name if you publish yourself.
6. Check the **First catalogue name**. It starts as **Main catalogue** and you can change it. You can add more catalogues later.
7. Tick **I've read the beta offer above and want to join on those terms.**
8. Press **Create my workspace**. The button stays switched off until all four boxes are filled in and the offer is ticked.

## What the beta offer says

These are the panel's own words, which the tick box asks you to accept:

- It names the number of works you can keep, and says you can **check them, track each society's status and prepare files you send yourself**.
- **No card needed.**
- **Before paid plans start we'll give you at least 60 days' notice, and you'll never be charged unless you choose a plan.**
- **Your data stays yours: you can download it at any time. We only delete it if you close your account, or after an emailed warning if the workspace has gone unused for 11 months.**

[Your data](/docs/workspace/help/your-data) says how to download it. [Close your account](/docs/workspace/settings/close-your-account) covers closing.

## What you will see

The button reads **Creating your workspace…** for a moment. The Workspace then opens on **Today** with your first catalogue, which is empty. The **Get set up** card lists what to do next, and [Your first file in five steps](/docs/workspace/start-here) follows it.

You can change your own name later on the Account page, and the workspace's owner can change its name under **Settings**. See [Your account](/docs/workspace/account) and [Change the workspace's name](/docs/workspace/settings/workspace-name).

## If something goes wrong

- **The screen says **New sign-ups are paused**.** TrackForge is not taking new accounts at the moment. Choose **Email TrackForge support** to be told when you can join, then press **Sign out**.
- ****Create my workspace** is switched off.** One of the four boxes is blank, or the offer is not ticked.
- **A message appears above the buttons after you press it.** The message says what went wrong. Press the button again. If it keeps happening, choose **Contact support** at the foot of the screen.
- **A workspace opened and you were not asked to set anything up.** That address already has a workspace, and you are signed in to it.
