## The free tools

These tools are free and need no account.

- **[ISRC Lookup](https://trackforge.studio/isrc-lookup)** -- check a recording by its ISRC against Spotify, MusicBrainz and TrackForge's copy of The MLC's data.
- **[CWR tool](https://trackforge.studio/cwr-tool)** -- create, check and read Common Works Registration (CWR) 2.1 files, and understand society acknowledgement (ACK) responses.
- **Public API** -- the ISRC lookup for software. Endpoints and limits are in [auth.md](https://trackforge.studio/auth.md).
- **MCP server** -- lets an AI assistant check a catalogue against The MLC, look up a song's writers and publishers, and validate CWR files. Server address: `https://api.trackforge.studio/api/v1/mcp`. ## Before you write

Answers are findings from third-party registration data, as of the date shown with each answer. Registrations and matches made after that date are not reflected, and the underlying data may contain errors. An answer is not a statement of who owns or controls a work, and is not legal advice.

MLC answers come from TrackForge's copy of The MLC's bulk data, refreshed weekly. TrackForge does not query The MLC live.

An "unknown" or "not checked" answer means the lookup did not finish or the data could not be read. It does not mean the work is unregistered. Please try again.
